Structural Engineering Laboratories of Department of Civil Engineering consists of a total of ten (10) nine different laboratories equipped with extensive experimental as well as high-computing facilities. These laboratories are capable of handing experiments on micro-level material study to large-scale test specimens. A brief introduction on each laboratories are given below.   • ADVANCED DYNAMICS LABORATORY (ADL)

    ADL is equipped with Vibration Analyzer, Shakers, Function Generators, Amplifiers to establish facilities for research and teachning in the field of structural dynamics. The facilties to demonstrate the modes of vibration of structures under earthquake loading conditions to undergraduate students are also available.

  • CONCRETE STRUCTURES LABORATORY (CSTL)

    CSTL is equipped with compression testing machine, Universal testing machine, casting of conrete specimens, prestressing beds, C-frame for testing of speimens under flexure, shear and torsion, etc. CSTL has been extensibly used for UG/PG teaching and research purposes.

    HSL has the facilities of strong floor and large frames for testing prototype structures, facilities for structural dynamics measurement and shake table. HSL is equipped with an uniaxial Shake Table, Several servo-hydraulic Actuators, Loading Jacks, Data Aquisitiom Systems, Mass Shakers, Controller, NI Virtual Instrumentation, NI FFT Analyzer, Accelerometers, Force Sensors, etc.

    SSDL was setup in 2007 to establish smart material based dynamic measurement facilities and to develop new technologies to monitor the health of civil structures.SSDl is equipped with Agilent E498o LCR Meter, Agilent 34411A Digital Multimeter, Tecktronix 2004 digital oscilloscopes, LDS V406 Shaker, PCB Accelerometers.
